Dr Claudia Curchin
BSc MBBS FACD
Claudia grew up in the Northern Rivers. After completing her medical and specialty training, and spending several years working as a consultant in Queensland, she returned to work as a Dermatologist in the area in 2017.
She is passionate about early detection and treatment of skin cancers. She also treats inflammatory skin conditions with a particular interest in female genital dermatoses, paediatric conditions, hyperhidrosis, allergic contact dermatitis and acne.
Available days: Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays.
Dr David Jenkins
MBBS (Hons I) FACD
As a member of the Australasian College of Dermatologists, David has published articles in multiple peer-reviewed journals on topics including connective tissue diseases, paediatrics, eczema, genodermatoses, and contact dermatitis.
David has undertaken multiple placements in the Northern Rivers at various stages of his medical career, most recently as a Dermatologist. He takes a particular interest in the early diagnosis and treatment of skin malignancy, the treatment of acne, psoriasis and eczema, blistering skin disorders, and light-induced skin disorders.
After working extensively in private and public settings in other locations, David is looking forward to contributing to the health of patients on the North Coast.
Available days: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday - every 4 weeks.
Dr Hsien Herbert Chan
BMedSci(Hons) BArts/MBBS(Hons) DPhil(Oxon) FACD
Hsien has been a visiting Dermatologist to the Northern Rivers area since 2017. He grew up in Perth and completed medical training there prior to receiving a Monash Scholarship to study for a DPhil in Clinical Immunology at the University of Oxford. His subsequent Dermatology specialty training was in NSW.
Hsien has a particular interest in the early diagnosis and management of skin cancers and the management of inflammatory skin conditions. He is a Staff Specialist Dermatologist at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital where he co-ordinates the Solid Organ Transplant Dermatology Clinic, the current Confocal Fellow at the Melanoma Institute of Australia, and a Post Doctoral researcher at the Charles Perkins Centre, University of Sydney.
He is also a co-author of the recently updated Cancer Council Clinical Practice Guidelines for Keratinocyte Cancer and has published research articles on a wide variety of Dermatological conditions.
